Just installed a new JVC HU in my '99 Miata and I need help with fitment. It seems the new HU fits in about 1/8" to 3/16" too far recessed. Basically I removed the OEM radio and installed the DIN sleeve that came with the JVC radio. The outfit I bought the radio from also supplied an "installation kit" but all that consisted of was a new storage pocket below the radio that I didnt need/use.
So, does anyone have any tricks on how to shim out the Din sleeve so I can get things to sit flush with the existing dash components?
Thanks in advance.

OK I pulled stereo and played with the sleeve tabs to get sleeve to site out off the framework of dash a little and now the radio has a much better presentation than when I had the sleeve lip flush. I didn't realize the sleeve was designed to provide flexible and adjustable installs.
