I'm deciding on weather to use some leftover 10ga power cable i have lying around for the speak wiring to my subs. How citical is it that i use wire specifically designed for speaker as to opposed to using power cable?

You should not have a problem using it just be sure it's  the correct gauge for your application. If you want to make the install a little cleaner you can zip tie the 2 cables together and they will look like one. Just be sure to mark which cable is which, I see all to often people hooking the wrong cables up because they are all the same color and cant tell the difference between them.

you shouldnt encounter any problems at all...wire is wire, no matter how you look at it...the only real differences are sizes and cosmetics...
just be sure that its OFC (oxygen free copper) and you are set...

10 ga for 200 rms is way too large and a bit of overkill but it will work. But your welcome
