I have a question regarding my sub, I just nticed that one of the wires has pulled out of the voice coil but since it is a dual voice coil set up can it still be used and functio properly or should i just throw it away.

Try it and see what happens. You will now have a SVC sub.

If you've got the extra money, I would go out and buy a new sub.  If you just hook one coil up, you will risk burning your amp out if that extra wire shorts out.  This will happen especially if you don't have it properly fused.  Even when you've just got one coil hooked up, the other coil is still getting the same amount of power because the sub is moving and creating the power in the extra coil.  If you must use the messed up sub, cut the broken wires completely off so there is no chance of it shorting out.  Then, you're just stuck with a SVC sub and its life has been dramatically shortened.  BUT, it will work.
