Pretty sure I need a ner Batt. Which 1?

I'm pretty sure my battery is dying, its a few years old, when my headlights are on they dimm in and out, so do all my dash lights, I tested my battery with a multimeter and with the car on and being reved it shoots up past 14 volts easily, but with my car off, it only takes a few seconds of having my fan, on to drop my batteries voltage below ten.  I'd like to get a deep cycle battery, because I'm about to install a system thats gonna suck around 1400 watts rms, but an optima yellow top wont fit in the stock location.  I'ts 6 7/8" wide, which looks like its about an inch too wide.  I can install it in my trunk, but I'd like to avoid that for space reasons.  The car is a '97 civic 4 door.  I'm probably going to upgrade the alternator when I get the system put in, are there many advantages for getting a deep cycle battery when the car is running?  I know it will hold a charge longer when the car is off.  Also will relocating my battery to the trunk help prevent noise and/or increase sound quality in my system?  I don't think it will, since you still have to run the wires all the way from the alternator to the battery, but i just thought I'd ask.  Also, does anyone know of a smaller deep cycle battery that would fit in the stock location?

Also how large of an alt should I get, and how much will the higher alternator be slowing my stock car down?  I'm not all into performance, but I don't want my car to be a lot slower.  It's a stick shift if that helps.

i had that problem and i got the yellow top optima deep cycle , before my electrical system couldn't even power my amp, my protection would come on.    after i put the optima in my amp works good and my lights barely dim now i need a cap

I know stinger makes a battery specifically for hondas. I'm not sure if its only for newer modles or for all. You should call Stinge for details and they can hook you up with an alternator also.

on top of that good advice look into a capacitor or power cap, it will decrease strain on your battery. monster fosgate and lightning all make them for a reasonable price.
