I was wondering if anyone has pics of any Sub Enclosures that they may have made for a Toyota Tundra < there is Crap for room>. I have a 2003 Extra Cab, I am cutting the floor out under the rear seat passenger side for one 12" Image Dynamics ID Max d.v4, any suggestions would be appreciated =). Right now the plan is to cut and build a sheet metal box that hangs about 8 inches below the cab, that would create enough room to build an MDF enclosure inside of.....anyhow, any pointers would be great, thanks

Make sure you have some kind of skid plate under the box, make sure the sheet metal has been sprayed with rhino lining so it does not suck moisture into the mdf box. I think this is a great idea, I've wanted to do something like this for a long time but I can find no one who will let me carve up the ride, wonder why? Make sure you post some pic's somewhere for us.

Will be taking a lot of pics for this, surely will post a bunch of them. Also trying to come up with a way to make some more room under the rear drivers side seat to drop my 2 Xtants, right now the only place they will fit is one under each of my front seats....unfortunately I can't cut the floor to drop a box on that side because of the gas tank... any suggestions?

I just finish installing a 10" Rockford Sub in my '03 Ext Cab Tundra. I didn't even have to cut a hole in the body. It is under the right rear passenger seat. I just replaced the storage compartent lid with 1/2" mdf, lined the box w/ dynomat, and it sounds great. I also put my amp under the passenger seat. I can email photos if anyone wants.

Ok, Im building a box for a toyota tundra, cutting the floor, making a steel box to drop down below to give me the air space I need for my new sub.... I was planning on building an MDF box to fit inside of this, would it be better to just use fiberglass?, would save me about .25 of an inch all the way around except for the top of the enclosure... let me know!

I am currently building a fiberglass box to fit in that same compartment. (without cutting out the floor) Just have to match up a sub for the airspace. Will send pics if you are interested

if its jammed force it - if it breaks in the process it needed to be fixed anyway

would love to see it,... that was my first thought, to build the enclosure into that space,, I was going to go with one JL 10w3, with a little effort it seems that would do decent that way. Getting the proper space for my 12" ID Max Dv.4 is getting to be a real pain in the ass. with the way the frame and crossmember sit under the passenger side of the vehicle. Also Limited because of the seat belt mounts, then towards the middle, the Heat Shield.......anyhow, wouldn't be as much fun without all the snags =)

I'm thinking I'm going to use the Phase 2 Punch 10' sub. It's shallow enough to mount and minimum airspace is like .35c/a or close to that. The box I'm building only has .45, so it should be a hard tight sound. Especially in a small truck cab. I will get pics to you next weekend.
