PPI mono amp monster wire

I am looking at a  PPI 1250 mono power amp, and it says it uses 6 gauge power wire, now i may not know much about car audio, but i know that it is quite hard if not impossible to ifne 6 gauge power wire.  Now, would i be able to use 4 ga. or maybe 8 ga. ( although i'd be worried about overpowering the wire there) or can you buy 6 ga. wire.  i want to use monster cables, keep it quality, probably a jl 10w7 or 12w7, just for your infromation.  thanks for all the help.Joe

Thanks man, also, anyone who might know of some wire manufacturers you are big fans of, what do you guys like?  I am looking at monster stuff cuz it is nice, but i saw this KnuKoncepts stuff, boasting some pretty high strand-counts and what not, anyone know about the quality there?  also, what is the best kind of 1 farad cap i could get, preferrably digital, but not a necessity.  thanks.Joe
