As of now i have the pioneer premier deh-p930, but i don't know if i want to keep it or get a new one.  I have been looking at what headunits are available and i think i may get the Pioneer DEX-P1, but i am not sure.  I may also look into the other name manufacturors like sony and alpine.

you can go for the alpine cda 7977 this radio is awesome and is one of ther top of the line with 4 volt pre amp outs and BBE sound prosecing, this radio requires an amp as it is not amplified it is only for signal production to an outbourd amp. If i was you i would stay away from Sony radios I think they are garbage (my opinion only),Alpine makes awesome cd players as well as Pioneer although Alpine is better. The Alpine 7977 also offers sattelite radio capabilities with all controls on the deck. The 7977 is  expensive though with a price somewhere around 400 dollars.

You could always try an eclipse cd 8061(one of the best), Nakamichi make somegreat h/units especially the MB 100 or CD 700 and you pretty much can't go wrong with the high end pioneer stuff.  The only thing with Nakamichi is there used to be some reliability and service issues with the product, in oz at least, whereas Eclipse provide awesome service as do Pioneer.  Ultimately it boils down to, does it have the features you want, do the looks of the unit appeal to you and whats the after sales service like? If you're happy with the answers buy it...
