What is everyone's opinion on the best component system out there? Please give specific reasons and why. I have an Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1. I think it sounds great but could be a little better with the midrange. I'm looking for an upgrade and haven't tested much speakers.

Infinity's, out of every different set I've ever heard or sold, leave a little to be desired in the midrange.  They are an excellent choice when you're lokoing to add the higher frequencies to your setup, but like I said, their midrange frequencies leave a little to be wanted.  I personally like CDT, Focal, and MB Quart for a balanced feel.  Those are on the more pricey end of the spectrum.  For a more budget minded approach, I prefer to go with Adire Audio Koda's, some of the lower model Focal's, Rainbows, or maybe kicker(again, just for the mid's) for the mid driver, and a seperate tweet setup (depends on which frequencies I look to improve as to brand).

Popcorn,

That might be a tough upgrade to make.  The Perfects are pretty solid for that price range.  I too bought in that price range with the Quart PCE set.  I am also slightly disappointed with the midrange smoothness and response.  However, after listening to other speakers in this price bracket, I've concluded that the returns from switching to another set aren't that great.  I've determined that the only ways for me to take a huge midrange quality jump is to either upgrade to a 3-way set or purchase replacements in a higher price bracket.  The quart Q series sounded smoother in the mids than the PCE.  If I had to do it over again and wanted to stay in this price range, I'd probably buy the Kodas or the Resonant Engineering set.

Price range doesn't matter. I just want to hear some opinions.

I don't know if it helps, but I used to run a/d/s/ 336is.2 components in my car.  They retail for $650 new.  When the Koda's came out, I did a swap to see which is better, and let's say the a/d/s/ components are still sitting in my closet.  The a/d/s/ components sounded great.  But the Koda's sounded just as good, and had the lower end response that the a/d/s comps were missing.

Just my opinion from way before I started working for Adire. The Best Component System! -- posted image.

I use Seas Lotus comps.  I chose them over all others I tested because to me they sounded the most neutral.

Don't get me wrong, the perfects are good components.  If you're looking to add highs.  Their midbass response is a 5 (on a scale of 1-10) at best.  I have tweets that I use for my highs, my 6.5's are for midbass/midrange frequencies.  I am also about to get a set of 4" to cover the gap between the mid drivers and tweets.  I run no rear fill, as I am a SQ guy.  I took them completely out.  There's no need for them, and the rear seat passengers can hear the fronts just fine.  Don't want to give them an ear bashing by putting anything in the rear deck.

Which 4" are you thinking about?  I'm also thinking about doing this.

Listening yourself is the only way.

MB quart, CDT, Focal, JL, Morel, and adire audio Koda components are nice.

I need quality equipment, feel free to donate.
