Clarion vs Eclipse HU

I have been looking at Eclipse's 8454 and Clarions DXZ945MP. I know that the Eclipse is the better quality of the two, but how much of a quality difference is there between the two? Is the Clarion along the quality of Pioneer Premier, or between the the Pioneer and Eclipse/Nakamichi quality? Thanks fellas.

They are not even in the same league. Next to Nakamichi, really the OLD SCHOOL Nakamichi, there is nothing comes CLOSE to the Eclipse heads.It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

i never liked the design of the eclipse decks, the clarions have that simple look that i like, but thats just my opinionClarion DXZ745MP

Sounds like I don't even need to say a thing here..... Eclipse.....Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.

All of you Clarion haters, go check out the DRZ9255. Amazing sounding deck!

Okay.... DRZ9255 is a wee bit different, to say the least. As someone who remembers the original... it was a very very good sounding deck. Kinda in a 7909 sort of way (BTW... I still have one... just wish I could get the internal little switching power supply for it... a great sounding classic Alpine piece!) If it was my dollar.... Eclipse, or the 9255, or DXZ945MP. I like them both, and they are solid pieces. Gus Wherever I go, that is where I end up......

Too me that deck looks like a $99 Rampage cd player, i dosn't even have good functions, , the only thing to brag about is the 96kHz sampling D/A converter.

Dosen't even come close to the high Eclipse CD8454 or the Alpine's older CDA-7990.
