Has any one found a better size  vented enclosure to use for the Alpine Type-R 10" subs other than the Alpine recommended vented enclosure? will be in a Tahoe..TIA

I don't know what they show, but it looks good as a vented enclosure at 1.0 ft^3 net air space.  Tuned at 29.6 Hz with a port (round) 3" X 19".  The driver displacement is shown in the manual and you can figure port displacement using https://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/boxcalcs.asp#cyl
Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

That's just what I used....an enclosure program.  That's a good size for that 10, anyway.  Make a slot port 2" x 3" X 16" and you'll get the same thing....a great response.

It's tough to figure this one for vented because to get the port size large enough so that there is no chance of air noise at high volumes, the port grows super long.  If we use minimum vent size calculators, the min. size for slotted would be almost 6" X 6"........and then the box has to grow in volume to get the port size shorter.  There has to be a trade-off somewhere.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.
