2000 explorer vs dd headunit

would a double din in dash monitor like the kenwood or rosen dvd player fit in this opening perfectly???? please help

we put a kenwood dd monitor in one and it fit almost perfect but the guy didnt have the trim ring. it would look real good with the ring.

there were no mods done to the opening but some mods to the bracket but fairly simple. i say "almost" because the missing trim ring exposed gaps between the monitor and dash. with the trim ring it should be clean, if not , then buy a dash kit and dremmel the hole for the monitor and clip the dash kit in. should make it 100% pro look.

I have installed the Kenwood Double Din Unit in a 1999 Ranger, which ic the same as your explorer, there were no mods made, besides having to be creative to mount it, because of the lack of using a kit, but it came out very clean, thus this was a new unit and the trim ring was used.

Yup, I put one in an Explorer too and it turned out perfect. Did have to get creative with the mounting but it was relativly simple.
