Hi Guys,

I'm new here.

I'd like to know between the battery and the HU, what is the capacity of the fuse needed?

I'm currently also facing some choppy sounds when engine is turned on but sound is smooth when engine is turned off. What could be the possible reason of this problem?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi there.  This is probably not the answer you want, but it depends on the head unit.  The maximum current draw should be in your owner's manual.  As to the second question, what do you mean by "choppy sound?"  Also please let us know what pieces are in your system (make/model, etc.)

Hi,

My HU is a Pioneer DEH 3350.I don't have a manual as I got it 2nd hand. You got this model's manual?

Regarding the choppy sound, it doesn't sound smooth.

The sound is like cracking up.Sound is only smooth when engine is off.

This problem only occurs recently.

Previously sound was great.

If it's available, you can download it from Pioneer.

Sound cracking up.  Do you mean it cuts in and out?  Is there an amp in your system?

Yup its from Pioneer.

Thanks for the link but can't find the manual though.

Its a Pioneer DEH-P3350

There's no AMP in my system.

Here's a link of the diagram how I connect my system.

I'd start with a 10 amp fuse.
My ex once told me I have a perfect face for radio.

Oops..sorry tht was the pic of my HU.

Here's the link to the circuit diagram on how I set up my system.

Guess will need a 10Amp fuse also in between the battery and Hu?

Thanks again.

A thought just hits me,

Does bad grounding gives this kind of problem?

It only occurs when engine is on but when its off, sound is very good.
