Hey I just put a 9831 CD player into my camry and everything is working just fine except there is no sound coming out of the speakers. Theres no static no pops nothing even with the volume cranked all the way up. I just cant figure it out. The only thing I can come up with is there is a factory amp in the car but ive beeen looking around and it dosnt seem that the camry has a factory amp. Anyone have any ideas?

If there is a factory amp it can be turned on by giving 12 volts to the pink AND black leads under the ACC ( grey ) lead.

Can you please explain a litte further? Are there some toyotas that have factory amps? and what plugg would it be on. The one for the rear speakers or the main plugg with power, illum, and those?

Yes some late model Toyotas have small factory amps and the early models used speaker level inputs. The turn on leads will be on the larger of the two plugs ( the one with power ) These wires will be pink and black and both must get 12 volts from your decks remote turn on lead. They are located on the bottom of the plug between the ground ( brown ) and the green ( illum. ) leads.

Alright so I pulled it all out and there is defintly not a factory amp. I hate having this CD player in my car working completely fine but not a dam thing coming out of the speakers.

Can you please explain a little further im not sure what you are saying. I had the old unit in there last week and it worked fine, I took it out becuae the CD player barely worked in it. And the Factory plugg definitly didnt have any remote wires.
There is one wire that is White with a Green stripe that I dont know what it is used for, it is on the plug with the rear speakers.

most Camry's did have a separate amp in them... either under the pass front seat or under the rear parcel shelf.....

Alrght just looked, defintly no amp in either location. As for the other suggestion, I guess i still dont know what you mean. The wires are hooked up from the deck to the toyotas wires from the harness that I bought. Are you saying to hook a speaker up to the leads off of my cd player to make sure its not that amp that is bad?
