My 2000 F150 had a factory changer installed. Now that I have a new Alpine CDA-9831 I have lost the ability to control it. It is just taking up room in my console. I was going to take it out but began to wonder if there was a way to control the factory changer using my new head unit. Any ideas on this?

No, but if you have the factory deck with Alpine written on the front with a CD button, you can use an M-bus changer with the adapter.

I don't think I've ever seen a Ford factory head unit with the word Alpine printed on it.

They're not all that common, but they pop up every now and then.  Have a look: http://search.ebay.com/ford-alpine-cassette_W0QQfkrZ1QQfromZR8
