I need to knoiw if there is anybody that could tell me what the best way t o hook up my system would be .

I have a kenwood kdc-x679

2 JL 12w6's custom box

JL 500/1 amp

Infinity 6.5's in front doors,  infinity 6x9's in rear deck

a useless capacitor I am trying to sell

When I hook u pmy head unit would it be better t ohard wire it or use a harness.  When I had My s10 xtreme the stereo shop hardwired the deck.  Could somebody please help me.

I also have some JL  6.5's for the front and some JL 6x9's for t he rear would those be bnetter than the infinity's?

First thing is what kind of car is it? Anything newer I would suggest a harness, especially if you have any form of warrenty on it.

It is a 96 cavalier that I got  free from my parents when they took over the payments on m ynew car

That is the harness you need, the part number is Metra 70-1858, the link was a random site found when I searched. It's 7 bucks through them, probably no more then 15 locally.

would it hurt anything if i didn't use a harness the wire harness in my car is kindof crappy

I need to re wire the factory harness that is why i was wondering if i should just hard wire the new stereo?

If the harness has already been hacked up on the car then you can just use it instead of getting another, it makes no difference aside from easier installation and removal. The link below should give you the colors for your factory harness.

which speakers would you use for the mids and highs ? JL's or the Infintys?

Would need the model numbers off of both sets to be able to accuratly guess as to which is better for your setup, also are you running them off the decks power or a seperate amplifer?
