i just bought a 10inch jensen sub from a classmate an i dont really know how to install it. id like to build my own box, is there any specific things i need to know for that. and do i need an amplifier? im tryin to go cheap as possible here i neesome tips for installing it in a 98 GMC Sierra pickup thanks nick

First of all you need a box or your sub will sound like crap.  The manuals that come with most subs tell you the dimensions to make the box or at least the recomended cubic feet.  If yours didn't have a manual, check the website, it should say.  You don't need  an amp, but a sub is almost pointless if it cant get enough power.  When you go to buy an amp, make sure that it is not too powerfull for your sub.  It is pretty straight forward to install an amp, and most come with instructions if you don't know how.
