Hi.  Three requests about post 2000 Hondas:

1.  What models/trim had steering wheel stereo controls (SWSC), and multi-CD head units (HU)?

2.  What are the resistances used for the different SWSC functions?  **If anyone has a service manual schematic showing this, it would be great**

3.  Is it possible to build a wire harness adapter to use one of these HUs in my 1989 Accord?

Thanks.

PS 1.  Yes, I know my unit is a 1DIN, but I have room below for a 1.5/2DIN                       2.  Yes, I've heard of the PAC unit, but no, I don't want to use it.  I want to stay Honda.

I know nothink.

My question would be how do you plan to use a steering wheel remote with the wheel spinning? IMO it would be more trouble/problems then it would be worth. You can find honda service manuals online but I doubt it will have the resistance listed for controls. Also the pac module won't work for you considering you want to use wired remote, not IR.

I have the steering wheel that has the remote buttons on it, just like the steering wheel mounted cruise control buttons.  It should be no trouble at all, especially if the resistances turn out to be the same as on my old head unit.  Then I could just simply build a harness connector using a clip from each car and it should be plug and play.  I'm pretty surprized that no one has access to those resistances though.  Surely someone here has a shop manual?

I know nothink.
