How do you mount the antenna for satellite radio? How do you get the wire into the car? Do you go through the weather striping? I have never done one and its on its way and I just want to make sure I do it right.

The antenna for the satellite is magnetic and you need at least 2 square inches. Depending on the vehicle (Car or SUV). your install differs. I did about four so far. The first one was on a mercedes and I installed the antenna inside on the rear deck. The other car, I ran it under the rear window weather strip and through the trunk. The SUV was a different case, I notched out an area near the rear door to get the wire through. To be honest, I am not 100% satisfied with the SUV installs eventhough my friends are happy with them. I am currently inquiring about a glass mount to use on vehicles like SUV or hatchbacks. Hope my little experience helps.

If, I keep it inside will it still get good signal or will it be better to install it on the roof outside the car?

It really depends on the area you live in; if you have good terrestrial repeater coverage; you will not have a problem keeping the antenna inside the vehicle. If there's not good coverage in your area; you will have problems with losing signal from time to time. I'm not sure if there's a source that can give you a coverage map or something for the repeaters; but I've just learned from trial and error that there is not very good coverage in my area. I have since stopped putting antennas inside of vehicles.

Life moves pretty fast; if you don't stop and look around once in a while; you could miss it.
