I am trying to install new front and rear speakers in my son's 91 Ford Escort GT.  How can I tell which wire is positive and whick is negative, or does it matter?

Thanks

Russ

Yes it does matter. When you remove the stock speakers from the car the speaker plug should have a retaining clip on one side. The wire closest to the clip is the negative.

You won't hurt anything. If one you were to hook one speaker up out of phase it would sound bad. Trial and error here I guess.

what i do is take a batt. and cut the factory harness and pop the spker.  if it goes out u have the positive wire.
Where theres is a wire there's a way.
