hey can anyone give me a general idea or plan for a vented /ported box for 2  10'' type e apline subs

Alpine only lists sealed enclosure volumes which are .8-1.7ft^3. You may want to call Alpine and talk to a tech, they may have have other suggestions. You can download the owners manual from the site, look under the "tech" link.  http://www.alpine1.com.

Actually the range of volume per sub is 0.6 to 1.25 cu ft for the 10" SWE1041.  Keep this subwoofer in a sealed box for best performance.  Although a lot of subs can be used in either sealed or ported, this one needs sealed only.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.
