I recently installed a Clarion MP850 in my wife's 2004 impala. So far, alll has been well until the last oil change we got. Now the "check engine oil" light will stay on for a while. There is no factory radio as I did the install with the DEI databus/chime module. How do you reset this light w/o the factory radio? Is there a way to bypass that feature altogether?

Here is the reset procedure stright from GM.Using the Accelerator Pedal

Follow this procedure to reset the GM Oil Life System ™:

  1. Turn the ignition to ON, with the engine off.
  2. Fully press and release the accelerator pedal three times within five seconds. If the CHANGE ENGINE OIL message flashes, the system is reset. However, if it stays on , it did not reset. Repeat the procedure.
