That is the low frequency range of my two pair of new coaxial speakers. Seems low when I read about subwoofers going to 150Hz. I hate to doubt manufacturer specs but right now I do. Just wanting to ensure as much life as possible for speakers and amps. Comments?

They can play that low, but not particularly successful. Try crossing them over at 80hz.

Where do you have your subs x-over?

No where yet, I am starting from scratch. It will be a JL 8" 8W0-4 that is on the way to me. I plan to power it with a 90 watt bridged Sony amp in mono that I have had lying around for a long time. The specs say to use a 1st order passive crossover (inductor only). It lists specs for the coil: 6.2mH for 100Hz, 4.2mH for 150Hz. Is a subwoofer that sensitive to dead spots in the crossover or am I just wanting to limit it since that is where it operates best?

Secondly and most unpopular, I have some 4" coaxials in the dash, mainly to act as tweeters. Their low range is 90Hz. I guess I should cross those over higher too. Recommendation other than discarding them? Hehe

There is no "right" way to set crossovers, rather tune it to where it sounds best. Usually people start off with a high pass filter set at 80hz for the interior and the sub with a low pass filter around 80hz. Again diffierent systems require different x-over points, so experiment.
