Hey guys, I have two Audiobahn 15"s powered by a Legacy Amp with a Kenwood Headunit. I woke up today, jumped in the car and only one subwoofer was pushing. I checked the terminal connection inside and outside the box and everything was in contact. I checked the fuses on the amp and they were both fine. This leads me to believe that some setting on my HU got changed. Is it possible to turn one subwoofer off and leave the other on? Thanks for your help...

how are your subs wired up? stereo or bridged? if stereo is your balance over to one side?or one channel is bad,no audio signal bad rca or head unit channel,or bad wire to sub . if bridged then i would say the sub gave up or bad wire also.

take an multi meter on ohm setting and see if you have the 4 or 8 ohm resistance the sub is rated. if there is no resistance(infinite). then sub is bad

If you have two woofers powered from the same amp, sounds like you fried a voice coil (or have a defective woofer.)

If it's a mono amp, you have a bad sub or wiring to the sub . If it's a stereo amp, swap the RCA's at the amp and see if the problem switches sides. If it does not, check for ac voltage at the speaker terminals. If you have voltage at the sub's terminals, the sub is bad. If you do not, the amp is bad.

It's a 2 channel amp, after running the wires from the working subwoofer to the nonworking subwoofer, we determined that it isn't the wires or the sub. We think its the one channel has gone bad. If one channel does not work, is there any way to fix this without buying another amp?

No, if it's an amplifier channel in a Legacy amp, it is trash. That's one reason they do not cost very much: they are not very reliable. Get a new amp, preferably a mono amp, and preferably next time not a Legacy. 2 Speakers, 1 Works -- posted image.

Time for a new amp like DYohn said.

Yes, if it's the amp just get a new one, but try swapping the RCA's first and see if the problem switches sides or not. If it does, there's a problem with the RCA's or the source unit. However, being a Legacy, I bet it's the amp.

Ok i'll try swapping the RCA's like you said. But the deal was off Ebay so what can you expect. If I get a mono amp what will that change ?
