OK i Have a 12" HE2 dual 4 ohms Sub. SO it will run at 2 or 8 ohms and i have a Rockford power amp 250.2 thats 2ohm stereo, so Schould i bridge it to 2 ohms even though its says 4 ohm  bridged or brige it at 8 ohms.

I think id rather run it at 2ohms. would that be all right, wouldnt it just get hot and turn off if its not stable.

I wont be running it very hard

Wire the sub to 8 ohms and connect it to the bridged terminals of the amp. While the power series of amps can do 2 ohm mono, they can do it for a finite period of time before the thermal switch turns the amp off. Play it safe unless a new amp is in your immediate future.

Do you know how much wattage it would be getting at 8ohms

4 ohms is about 320 watts

To find power for 8 ohm bridged, use the stereo 2 X __ watts @ 4 ohm rating of the amplifier.  The output would be the same as the total output of that rating, both channels.
Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

so 4 ohms x 2 is 100watts so Roughfuly about 200Watts at 8Ohms

And you dont recomend running it a 2 ohms

I have a 800 whats 2channel would that be better bridged at 8 ohms which would be 960x1 at 4 ohms

The Sub is 400rms 800 peak would that be too much power

What do you recomend
