'99 dodge ram Headunit

I am installing a pioneer headunit in a 99' dodge ram. I am having a problem with it. I used a scosche wiring harness and it plugs in just fine. But the stereo did not power one.

I traced down the ground wire and it does not go into the harnesses, And there was a clip on the back of the factory stereo. I assume this was the ground for the original stereo. But I tried hooking the 2 togather and nothing happended. Where do I hook the ground to?

The single wire than either clipped onto the back of the deck or screwed onto the back of the deck was indeed the ground wire. See if the unit turns on with this wire connected. If it does and you still have no sound, connect the remote on lead of your deck to the Blue wire on the Scosche harness, you may have a factory amplified system that needs a turn on trigger.

Thanks guys. I did not realize the antenna was also used as a ground. The factory unit would power up fine, and all the fuses are good to. The pioneer unit is a used one from another car, the headunit works fine, I tested it out in another car that also had a pioneer.

I will check the antenna later on, thank you again
