I believe the onstar has it's own harness on the back of the factory radio. I know metra makes a harness that allows you to run onstar audio through a pair of rca's to an aux in on an aftermarket HU.
oh and an 02 rendezvous won't use the 1858, it's a classII data radio, use 70-2003, or use the GMOS-01, that will retain the onstar and chimes.

if it's a bose system(which I think rds systems are) you can use the GMOS-04, which provides low level inputs for the factory amplifier as well as retaining all the factory features

oh; you've already got the t-harness, there should have been a separate plug on the back of the factory radio, that's the onstar audio plug. It's a single row, 5 or 6 pins i think. There is a metra harness that allows you to do exactly what you are trying to do, but I cannot remember the specific model number. you could try Metra. You should be able to get the specific model.

you got it; then when you need to use the onstar, just switch your headunit to aux, and away you go

just one more question....with this setup (t-harness) i don't know where to get a 12v constant from, there isn't one on the harness itself (just ground and accessory)...do you have any ideas where i can get it?
