I have to do a re and re for a friend of mine, basically swapping a Sony that I installed for him out of his truck that he is selling and replacing it with an older Pioneer tape deck, model KEH-P4200...

I am trying to figure out the speaker colors out of the harness...

I have the following from L to R:

Black (solid) - Ground

Black / Wht stripe - ?

Gray / Red stripe - ?

Black / Green stripe - ?

Green / Red stripe - ?

Orange (solid)  - constant

Green (solid) - ?

blank

Gray (solid) - ?

Gray / Black stripe - ?

Red (solid) - ignition

Blue (solid) - remote

now, is that blank supposed to be blank, or has a wire been pulled out of the harness? and what do each of the other wires control as far as directionally (RF LF RR LR)?

any help would be greatly appreciated...I know some of you guys have been in this game long enough to know what these colors are...

thanks,

Big Purds

Here is the correct wiring for the older model pioneers:
Orange:      constant
Red:        ignition
Black:       ground
Blue:        remote turn-on
grey:        right front (+)
grey/black: right front (-)
green:       left front (+)
GREEN/ black: left front (-)
grey/red:    right rear (+)
BLACK/ grey: right rear (-)
GREEN/ red:   left rear (+)
BLACK/ green: left rear (-)
that is not a BLACK/ white wire you have it is actually grey. The empty slot in your harness is where the negative wire for the left front (-) should be. You need a new harness. Do not use the negative from another speaker wire in lieu of the one that is missing.
Hope this helps. You may want to try to go by a local shop. Sometimes you can pop a wire/connector out of another harness and snap it into the slot. Sometimes.

Hi!

Well......  If it wasnt of use to him....  It was to me. I just bought a Pioneer DEH 345R from eBay without a manual, for use on my second (runaround) motor.

Any ideas where I can get a copy of the manual from? Quite happy to pay for the privilege, by whatever means!

Thanks a lot!
