ok, Ive got the stereo on by connecting the constant power and the other power but I can't figure out how to wire the speakers, please help 1996 contour stereo wiring -- posted image.

If you go to your local stereo shop, they will sell you a plug that you can wire directly to the new stereo matching wires color to color. Then it'll plug into the factory harness and off you go.

I bought the car connector kit but the actual speaker wire connecters didnt match up... was going to individually splice all 8 but the colors arent too much of a help.

That sticky has some good info. That means they sold you the wrong harness. Ford uses several different harnesses. If you go back to the store, they may let you look through their book to identify the correct one.
