Long time reader, many many helpful topics, This is first ask for help. I have a 2005 F-150 supercrew, All kenwood kfc889 deck 1-9152d sub amp, 2-7252 amps for mid and highs, 14 speakers mostly mids and highs 2- X1002 subs. I had 2- pyle 1-farad caps.   1-for the 2 7252 amps ,and 1 for the subs. Stock battery and alternator (130 amp)  headlights were dimming so I replaced 1-pyle for a 3-farad power acoustics cap for my subs. I just recently smoked my alternator (thank goodness for warranty) I cannot find a higher amp alternator (to new) and am considering a second battery, I have also been reading about Batcaps, are they like batterys of Capacitors?. I will probably go for a yellow top Optima (thanks to this forum) Also since my alternator took a powder, the power acoustics cap never reads above 14.3 volts wheras the Pyle fluctuates from 13 to 16 volts I have 0-gauge power wire to a distribution block and 4-gauge to the Caps and to the amps. The system also seems to be a little down on power.  Any suggestions to keep my headlights bright? And not smoke another alternator? Its the audiophile in me.....thanks again for the Forum... John...

you should be able to have plenty of options for a high amp alternator with that vehicle.....look at ohio gen's, and domonick Irrage.    And large case or delco alternator will fit that car without a problem
