I just purchased a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500. It came with the 4 speaker system and 1 year free sat radio. I would like to add my alpine 9857 to the truck. Is there a way to use the dodge sat radio with the alpine or is the sat radio built into the headunit of the dodge? I would also like to know if this truck has the infinity amp or is that just the 7 speaker system.

Thank for your input

Malakai

you can still use the sat radio that came with truck just when you call and activate get a alpine sat tuner and give them the esn from that and they will activate it. I have kenwood and bought that truck to. i dont have infinity system. so i swopped entire system and my subs i built can be found on this forum under 2006 dodge 1500 so i have a kenwood indash tv dvd player with sat radio used the factory antenna. but had to solder a new connector on it to work with kenwood sat radio tuner. then gave sirius the esn to kenwood tuner instead of the tuner built into the radio of the car.

mecp certification is not always needed. I have it and it has not helped me out at all. my experience out shines it.

NO, there is no way to use the factory Sat tuner with an aftermarket head unit.
