What is a fair price for installing just the amp and sub?

I have everything needed to install my amp and sub, I just purchased a new car to me, it is a 2002 vw jetta and want it done for me. I have no time to do it, the system was in my old car I just want it installed in the new one.

My shop charges 65 bux plus tax, so long as there is no crazy work involved in mounting the amp. Thats Canadian mind you ;)

Circuit City quoted me 150 to 175 us dollars. Without even looking at it, I think that is a little high!

Wow, did they tell you to grab your ankles and give you lube as well? You said you have all the wiring and what not already right?

Then ya, thats way to much friggin money. I would check into some other shops in the area.

Did you tell them you had everything? that sounds like a price including RCA's and a power kit.

I don't think that price is too high, but from jerk-it city, yes too much.

The going rate at my shop is $80 (for customers own gear) an hour and that type of install usually takes an 1.5-2 hrs.
