power & speaker wires down seperate sides?

Is it still common practice to run your power wires and speaker wires down seperate sides of the vehicle or has wiring technology gotten to the point that this is not of a concern anymore (or can this only be done with shielded wire). As you can tell it's been many years since I have done car audio but I am getting back into it. For those that were wondering yes i did a few searches with no results so hence the reason for this post. TIA for the help

even with shielded wires, it's a good idea to go down sepereate sides, especially with high power systems.

As long as you run your RCA's separate of any power wires you should be fine. Running your power & speaker wires is OK.
