Hey fellow wire pullers.

Ive got a few questions im lookin for answers to. Im upgrading the noise maker

in the 03 Silverado Crewcab Duramax. It has the Premium Bose system in it.

I have everything to re-do all of it ie. head unit, amps, speakers, x-overs, etc.

Question 1. How important is the interface if I dont care to have door chimes and

On-Star?

Question 2. (I am ok with the Bose front speakers for now) Hoping someone can send

wire code of front stage. Specifically at the wire harness in the console. I understand the

speakers are 2 ohm. My amp is 2 ohm stable......I thought I would try and hear how it sounds

before switching that out.

Question 3. Does anyone know about the Bose sub? How big? How much room is there to

put a new enclosure? etc?

U guys Rock

In Canada it is illegal to remove a safety device from your vehicle. The chime module is classified as a safety module due to the seatbelt reminder chimes. It must stay intact on the circuit.

If you are looking to redo the entire system, do just that. When you actually see the factory "BLOWS" equipment coming out of the vehicle, you will shake your head. Want to keep it simple and straight forward, replace the speakers, add your new amp or amps, the cd or dvd headunit and the sub or subs of your choice.

You have lots of options to consider in this truck. Who is tackling the install for you?

Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.

Hey Rob

Thanks for the advice. I am doing the install myself. I got most of it in in the last two days.

Im just gonna make a fiberglass enclosure for under the seat yet. Then most of it is done.

Most of the gear is some older classic stuff ive had since new......a couple of phoenix gold

ms 275's....(remember those?) old school ...but rock solid, an EQ 215x, Quart bi-mods

and a Clarion DXZ 825 with a Sirius Sat module.... Just gotta play with sub.....ive got some

JL 8w6 that should work.    I put the interface in....so the chime is still there....at least I can

turn it down a bit. I had a look at that "blows" sub in the console.....its a 6.5 in  DVC...Cute is

about all I could say......lol

Thanks again
