How does a factory Remote wire work

i would like to know how an automobile remote turn on system work. I am curious because i want wire up my car stereo equipment in my room all in a nice box shelf. How do i make a remote turn on for the set up when it is not hooked up to a car. Thanks everyone.

All it does is supply +12V when the radio is turned on.

So can i just ignore the blue remote wire on the radio and supply 12 volts to the radio from a car battery, or should i hook up the blue remote wire from the radio to the amps while plug in to the battery.

Well, if you are just hooking up the radio then you want to power the yellow(constant) and the red(acc) wire and then ground the black(ground) wire. If you are using an amp then you need to worry about the blue wire otherwise leave it unhooked.

I would like to connect both my amps and sub woofer all together with the radio.

you should buy a good size inverter (ac to dc) to power your radio and amp(s).
