2007 Cobalt SS with the factory sub in the LR corner of the trunk, gonna do amp and subs with LOC. The only issue I'm having is does anyone know a safe place to grab the remote turn-on?

You need to grab it at the BCM. Use a switched ignition wire ( PINK ).

Yep, DO NOT GO TO THE COLUMN. Must go to the BCM which can be accessed by pulling the pannel off the lower right hand side of the center console

The pink wire in the 12 pin plug of the radio is the radio ON wire. Use this for your amp turn on.

The pink wire is not an accessory wire. It is the remote amp turn on wire from the radio to the amp. It will likely go live even when you insert the key into the ignition cylinder because the amp has to be on to allow the chimes to come through the front lect speaker. It only takes a minute or so to pull off the trim panels and unscrew the radio. On newer GM vehicles, you can't hook into just any wire because some aren't designed to handle any current and only trigger microprocessers. If you son't know what the wire is and tap into it you can easily damage a BCM. Just a warning to be very cautious.
