you know what is funny, i already have a new alternator in my car along with a yellow top, so i really dont think i have any "bullet wound" i am trying to cover up with a "bandaid" i think if i wanted to use a cap in my car i think im allowed to its my car. and even if i didnt keep the cap in my car i wouldnt have a voltage problem and if i was having a voltage problem in the subject part of this post it would proble say somethin like oh i dunno "voltage problem?" not using a capacitor as a distributor block. |

I have NEVER said "Do not use a cap". I have ALWAYS said "A cap doesn't do what the retailers say it'll do for you", or basically that. The retailer's cap hype is literally a "band-aid on a bullet wound". You are absolutely correct. It IS your car, and it IS your money. PLEASE, by all means, buy the cap. But, I am not the only person here that believes that a capacitor is a waste of money. I was simply trying to find out why you believe you NEED a cap in the first place. If you WANT it, that's a different story; please, install it, and all God's blessings upon you in all your future endeavors.

dont you think i know that if a cap has a distributor block built into it, that i could use it? i think it takes a genius to figure that one out, but OBVIOUSLY I DO NOT HAVE A CAP WITH A DISTRIBUTOR BLOCK BUILT INTO IT!!! wow. |

Well, it seems you have already answered you own question by firing back at me. If there are capacitors with distribution capabilities out there, then it must be OK to use the positive (and negative, for that matter) terminals for distribution. Only problem I can see is that sometimes the terminal bolt will be a bit too short, and you run the risk of stripping the bolt hole, by not having enough thread left over after several terminals are installed. Just be careful how tight you crank down on 'em once your terminals are installed.

i was simply asking if it was safe to use somethin like what i had a link to, and holly crap if i used a link to a website. who cares what website it is to??? |

I don't care, but the12volt.com does. Why? I don't know, and I don't really care. I just follow the rules. You are attacking me as if
I blocked your link... I didn't block it. It's automatically filtered by the servers.

is it really that big of a deal that i just wanted to show someone a pic of what i was talking about, and it just so happend to be on ebay? who cares? |

Again, I don't care where you link... But you agreed to to abide by the rules (just like everybody else did...) of the12volt.com by signing up, and continuing to post here. I would happily look at any link you provide, as I was curious to see what you were referring to. I was only trying to help, and it is obvious to me that you took it wrong. If it matters to you at all, I did try to locate that item on eBay, OUTSIDE of your link. I did. I was honestly trying to help you, and as I said, I wanted to see what exactly it was to which you were linking.

you need to take it easy and chill out becuse all i was doin was asking a question that i was like 80% positive i could do. a simple yes you can or no you cant do that that would work. i dont need the 12 volt police on me for somethin stupid like what you just tryed to make it. |

Speaking of wow... If anybody needs to chill out, it's you. Really... I am not "the12volt police". I am just a member here, just as you are. As I said already, I was only trying to help, and apparently you took something that I said out of context. I still do not believe that my response was rude in any respect, and I do not feel I deserved this type of retaliatory response from you. From now on, I'll simply ignore any and all threads from you, and you'll never have to worry about me responding in ANY respect, let alone in a way you might consider rude.
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."
