My battery kept dying and after testing out everything i think i narrowed down the problem.  i think that my amp is broken, like a relay inside it or something.  what is happening is that i will run my system but when i try to start my car after it rests it doesn't start.  i know that it isn't my alternator or battery so the only thing i can figure is my amp is staying on somehow.  i want to know if there is anyway i can keep my amp from draining my battery when my car is not on.  i was thinking of putting in a relay or something but i can't find one that is big enough to put in the power wire.  do you guys have any ideas of how to fix this problem???

Unhook the power wire from the amp.....see if the problem remains.....if it does....your amp is not the cause, and look elsewhere!

i already tried that... i also hooked up another amp for a while and the problem stopped too.  that way i knew it wasn't the wiring.

Have you tried leaving the amp hooked up, but not running the stereo for a day. It could be possible that your amp draws a lot more power than your alternator can supply so it slowly drains from the battery until you turn the motor off resulting in not enough juice in the morning.

i thought of that but i didn't really think that was the problem. the reason is because i used to have another amp that i ran for a couple of months and i never had a problem with that amp. it was only 1200w and not 1600w like the audiobahn but the 1200w amp was a diamond audio. i still think that it could be the problem but i'm pretty doubtful that is the case.

haha....1600 watt audiobahn amp??
prolly puts out more like 600 watts.
Sorry but Audiobahn is very poor quality and usually highly overrated

Agreed. The DiamondAudio 1200 watter has got to put out more power than the Audiobahn '1600' watter. You would think it would use more power.

i know that the audiobahn sucks which is why i came to the conclusion that it wasn't my alternator. i knew that if the diamond amp wasn't straining my alt too much than my audiobahn shouldn't have a problem. that is why i'm thinkin that it is the amp and not the alt.
