Hey all,

Sort of a minor problem but would like to address this if I can before I finish the job.  I have a 2001 Nissan Maxima and a AstroStart 5204 w/ alarm.  When I remote start my car, and unlock/lock my parking lights don't flash, but the car un-arms & unlocks/locks fine.

But when the car is not running aka remote started, my parking lights flash fine when I unlock/lock.

Any ideas or things to check?  Is it the remote start or my car?  I'm 90% sure I had this working before I started messing with some stuff...adding the rear defroster on an output and some other stuff, but I feel I have it back the way it should be.

Any ideas?

While running, the parking lights will be ON. No flash on them while running, and disarm/unlock is normal. My civic is the same way.....as every astro I have done. I have a 2205.

Kind of confused but I assume you want the parklights to flash without the ignition being on?
If this is the case, what wire have you connected to for parklights and where did you tag/connect it? Typically on these vehicles you can find a RED / Blue in the driver kick panel. Should test as +12V when the parklight switch is moved to the ON position, regardless of whether or not the ignition is on or not.

My parking lights function fine when my car is NOT running, but when I remote start my car, my parking lights don't seem to blink at all.  I have taken the parking lights fuse out (on the AstroStart) and then the lights didn't work when the car WASN'T running, so I elminated that possibility.

I thought they worked when running, but maybe its just my imagination.  Our town is flooded with AstroStarts up here so I'll see if someone elses does, but "KarTuneMan" is probaby right.

~Thanks

Does your car have daytime running lights? Or a switch that you can leave on, so when you get in start,m and drive away, the lights are already ON?

I am an idiot....blind, and terribly "unaware" My car DOES flash the parking lights when R/S....but they don't flash if the parking lights are on.

My brother has an 01 Max GLE....he has this style of switch I talked about. With the switch left ON, the light's do not flash. with it OFF, it does flash.

Where did you get your parking lights?

KarTuneMan wins the prize!

Your right, see I knew my parking lights did flash when I remote started it, but the headlights have to be OFF or it has to be daylight so the light sensor doesn't put the lights on.  I usually leave my lights set to AUTO, so much less hassle.

Works perfect now.
