hello guys i'm an old schooler that is installing a clifford solaris in a 2001 monte carlo, my question is i know i need a 555l

however i see new things like 1700g, xko1 and so forth from directed, will one of these work better than just the 555l?

My preference in that vehicle would be the GMBP from bypasskit.com on that car. Simple one wire connection to the OBDII connector under the dash. The 1700 and XK01 hook up the same way, however those pieces also control door locks on other vehicles (not your Monte) so they cost more.    The 555L and 556L will also work fine.
Installer, IT support, and FFL. I need less hobbies.

Not to thread jack, but the instructions to the XK01 say that it "may" not control the door locks. Are you certain this unit does not control the door locks?
