I have an 01 Grand Cherokee and I cant seem to get the brake light wiring harness out of the switch. Ive tried now for 2 days pulling up on it and it only comes up alittle bit. Anyone Know how to get it out or have a picture so I can atleast see what im doing?  Thanks you.

I just looked at the kick panel. Found 2 boxes full of wires behind the trunk release. I unscrewed the Bottom box of wires and I see 2 WHITE/ tan wires.....one is a bigger gauge one is alittle smaller. Any ideas?

Turn the brake swith 1/8 of a turn to the left, and it pops out.
Be careful, as it is fragile.
Out of hundreds of Grand Cherokees, I've only had one brake switch go bad on me. I never really could figure out if it was already about to fail, or if I broke it. But it was only a #12 part at AutoZone.

Thanks Chris. It worked like a charm. After looking at it, Looks like its going to be the smaller gauge WHITE/ tan.

You're welcome!
When you mention two different-gauge wires........hopefully you're testing all of your wires as you go along.
Hooking up to wires from a tech sheet without testing them can sometimes not turn out too well.
