Could this be done? I have a Remote starter unit that activates only on a single pulse input and want to connect it to a factory alarm.
If I press the factory remote door lock once it locks the doors which is fine, If I press it the second time (or third) I would like it to activate the remote start.
How could I block the first signal and send only any signals after the first? Relays/capacitors?
I understand that this is programmable on some remote starter units but the one I have is not and I thought it might be an interesting problem to solve.
Thanks,
BTW: I am a newbie so excuse me if this query sounds dumb.

To the product's defence, I want it to do something it was not designed to.

The car is a 2002 Maxima and the RS is a stand alone, bottom of the line bulldog with remote which I got a while back and is sitting around doing nothing. It does have an input (-) line which activates the RS on a single pulse and that is why I'm playing with to see if I can eliminate carrying two remotes.
Thanks again guys.

I see what your saying, I thought it was an addon unit that didnt have an option of making the trigger require three pulses.

Can you pop the trunk by remote? you could use that output and cut out the trunk release motor (you'd have to use the key from that point on).
When you hit the "unlock" button more then once do the locks actually keep trying?
