03 elantra doorlock problem

Hey guys sorry but I'm not really sure what model avital alarm r/s it is since I didn't install it I was just asked to check it out I have only done a hand full of install of alrams and remote starts so I'm not sure how to start to trouble shoot. but here is the problem.
The door locks only work when the car is on or when it has been remote started. Any help thanks

Actually I didn't do this install I don't kno who did but a friend of mine asked me to check it out he said they used to work fine now they don't its wierd thou the locks don't work at all when the car is off,but when its running they work at the door switch and with the remote.ohh and the alarm arms and disarms fine when the car is off but the locks don't, I'm going to start tearing into it soon to check all the connections.

there was just another thread with a guy who had lock problems when the car was off...but they worked when the car was on or turned in the accy position...he had to replace a fuse under the hood, and it worked after that! 

I would check the fuses under the hood and make sure they all check out!  verify with a DMM and not just visually! 

seems like you might have the same problem!

Awsome thanx guys didn't even have 2 do anything but change the dome light fuse. And I was reading that thread too but didn't catch that last posts thou.
