Car: 1990 Nissan Sentra - No factory alarm

Issue: Everything works, except the remote start.

Symptoms: No diagnostics from LED- does not engage remote start at all.

This is just about the easiest car to install an alarm in, however, I cannot get the remote start part of the unit to respond at all. I have verified the tach AC voltage, learned the tach wire on the alarm with a confirm honk, checked fuses, grounded neutral safety wire.

Everything else works except the remote start.

I used the wiring diagram for the car from here and verified the inputs.

These are the wires that I did not hook up:

1) remote start aux harness (ribbon used to brain)

2) H1/1 - RED / White- Channel 2 output

3) H1/7- Blue - Second Unlock Output

4) H1/9- BLACK/ White- Domelight Supervision

5) H1/10- WHITE/ Blue- Remote Start Activation Input (?)

6) H1/12- Orange- Armed Output

7) Relay Satellite- RED / White- High Current Input

8) Relay Satellite- Pink/White- Output to second IGN

9) H2/ [All]- Channel 4, Factory Rearm, Wait to Start, Factory Disarm

Can anyone please provide suggestions?

Connect #7 to 12volts. Did you get BOTH starter wires connected as well?

the ribbon harness, you listed that you did NOT hook up the ribbon harness. Are you refering to the ribbon harness from the brain to the XCRS Relay pack?

Yes, I connected both starter wires as the car starts and runs fine with the key.

Just the remote start is doing absolutely nothing. Not even lighting up one light on the dash.

Secondly, I will wire #7 to 12 volts this afternoon and let you know.

That post was meant to be interpreted that I did hook up the ribbon satellite harness from the satellite to the brain, therefore I did not hook up the the satellite AUX remote start harness

On this AUX harness, there are connections to trigger optional relays and 1 remote start output activation

I figured the remote start output activation was if you chose to install a remote start standalone unit separate from the brain.

I am starting to think that the:

5) H1/10- WHITE/ Blue- Remote Start Activation Input (?)

should be wired to the Satellite Relay AUX harness- Remote Start Activation Output (Even though I think that this is for a standalone remote start unit)

Can anyone please confirm or deny this?

I connected #7 from the Satellite Relay (RED / White) to +12V Constant and it did not help.

I should also note that I did not install anything on the hood pin wire or door pin wires. So this should not stop the car from remote starting.

Any more suggestions?

The WHITE/ Blue is for adding this remote start to an existing system. You do not have to hook this up to anything. I always ignore this wire.

The hood pin and door pins wires do not have to be hooked up, just be sure that you tape up the ends so that the hood pin wire doesn't touch ground. This would stop the remote start from firing up. Make sure your neutral safety switch is toggled so that the BLACK/ White wire shows ground. Without ground at that input, the RS will not try to fire up.

Make sure that the brake showdown input (brown) is not showing 12V+ when your foot is OFF the brake. Other than programming the RS sequence to more than two pulses, that's pretty much it.

I always tape up the unused wires. Thanks for letting me know that that should be unwired.

I will verify that the brake is not sending a 12+ constant, as it will act like an open hood pin.

I will also bypass the toggle switch all together and give it a constant ground to the neutral saftey switch.
