Yes don't even think about it. If you have to ask don't attempt it.

Howie gets my vote on this one. Unless your friend has 35+ years history in the business.....

You friend is doing this for a customer, or a friend? I hope it's a friend, cause when it takes forever, and stuff don't work....

He'll understand, cause thats how friends are....right? And if it's a customer, send them on their way.

I know I sound like an idiot chicken S, but in business ou should choose your battles properly.

The electrics will be the same as an ordinary E Class, do you have a "normal" key, a plastic slot key or the type where you sit in the car with an RFID key, foot on brake and push start button? To do the first is a nightmare, the 2nd will cost you $2000 before you start to parallel the data ign wiring to where it becomes standard 12volts and the third is impossible, not forgetting electrical probblems that WELL> ensue and the dealer costs to rectify them and you've just thrown your warantees out of the window.

my car is longer under warantee.

my car has the regular slot key that you put in and turn to start it not the "wireless" system.

do you have a wiring diagram for it?

I remember this one time, at band camp, when I didn't listen to Howie.   That's how I got the Screenname.
