Two 2003 nissan sentras. Had  circuit city install these "Python 1400XP Remote Start/Keyless Entry Systems"
Link to product:

Says anti-grind in the features. I thought this was the thing that prevented you from getting in the car after it was remotely start, and turning the key to far and listening to the starter engaging?

Both of the cars seem to grind if we turn the key to far while the car is running off the remote start. I had a jeep with a remote start and it never did this crap!!

The anti grind isnt working on the sentra, is it?

Agreed with t&t tech...also you would want to make sure that they cut the starter wire in the first place when wiring to the relay satellite. Some shops don't do that for whatever reason.

Wouldn't you need to add an extra relay to make the anti grind feature work with a stand alone remote start?  All the alarm/remote starts I've put in use the starter kill relay for the anti grind feature.  On a remote start / keyless unit you have no starter kill relay.

If you take it back to CC I would expect a charge for the relay and the installation to add this feature.

I've never seen it done through the starter relay as mentioned above - how exactly does that work?

Ive seen many  RS/keyless units with no alarm that had a relay, some even built in with 2 wires coming out of the brain for the start wire. all OMEGA keyless entries have a starter kill relay with them. I have no clue why since its not an alarm only keyless entry, but none the less, they do.

i never wire up antigrind

i also charge extra to do it

did you pay to hitched up?

usually after i explain to the customer that if they lock the vehicle

then  if  relay, they lose the remote  goes bad or it quits working that they won't be able to start there car

they usually decide they don't want it

how do you figure that? anti-grind relay should only be activated during remote start. once not activated, term 30 and 87a connect the start wire together, so even if you never had another remote again, the car is always going to start.

the way dei piece work is that the anti grind output is also a ground when armed

that is the ORANGE / black wire

so as soon as you lock the car with the remote you also have starter kill

thats the way i always understood it worked

I dont see how they managed to not have the anti-grind feature on unless they programmed it out. I put in hundreds of the python 1600xp's and thousands of 562ts and never had one not anti-grind...
