i have compustar_2wfm_as in maxima 97. i left the car dome lamp turned on by accident so it drained the car battery over a few days and drained enough power that i can't start the car. i disconnected and reconnected the battery, thinking that it help to prevent short circuiting the alarm before jumping the car with anther car. a few days after the car was jumped started, i remote started the car but the car did not turn over. when i sat in the car, the dash lights are all lit up but it does not turn over. the car starter is working when started with the car key. the remote starter function seems to work when using it to keep the engine running without a key in the steering column. the alarm appears to arm/disarm fine. could it be the battery issue? not enough juice for the remote starter to turn over? i kinda doubt it when i can start the car with the car key. i am puzzled. does anyone have the same experience?

sounds like the contacts on starter output relay could be gone, you could check this by running a jumper wire from 12volts to the starter output wire coming from the unit

a jumper wire is a regular wire for alarms?
i guess it's ok to use the 12volts power source from the battery. any recommendation, just in case i have a dead relay?
there is a relay between the central unit and the steering column. you want to confirm if relay is actually dead?

this is for those who will be experiencing what i am now experiencing.
hold 1+2, tab 3 (1 flash), tab 3 (1 flash), tab 3 (3 flashes),
hold 1+4, tab 3 (1 flash), tab 3 (1 flash), tab 3 (3 flashes),
if the horn goes off in any steps, it means you are too late. you must start over.
