I am putting in a remote starter and want a bypass for the doors and passlock system.  I searched the forum and i noticed alot of people using the xk01 but when i tried to order one for a 2006 envoy xl they told me i need the GMBP.  My question is there another module that does both for this car.  I would also like it to turn on the rear defrost also if possible. Thanks a ton!

GMBP is bypass only... XK01 will do locks, bypass, alarm disarm, heated seats & mirrors, etc.... no module out there does defroster that i am aware of......you'll have to harwire it....

GMBP:   Passlock bypass only, doesn't do locks.
GMDLBP: Passlock, doorlocks, and has a Panic input.
XK01: Passlock, doorlocks, front window rollup.........and at 32 degrees or below, it'll turn on the rear defroster, as well as heated mirrors and seats if you have them.
Note that the XK01 does NOT have a Panic input. If you want Panic, make sure you have a remote starter with its own horn output.
And, the XK01 needs to have the right firmware in it, as it can be loaded with firmware to do all kinds of different cars. Make sure you buy from a seller who will ship it to you configured correctly.

thanks for all the help! I was really confused with all the different models and brands.  I purchased an XK01-AMDL.  This website is awesome i've found more answers here than the installer in my area!

I just finished installing a prestige XR6900 and the 2-way remote confirms signals for about 1 min than stops confirming.  All the comands work fine from the remote.  I notice if i unplug the antenna and plug it back in it works for about 1 min than stops again.  Any ideas?  Or how would i go about replacing the antenna with customer support.  I purchased it online from an elec store.  Thanks for all the help.
