I have recently installed an aftermarket alarm/remote start on a 2002 Honda Accord Ex V6 Coupe. After all connection were tested and connected I tried to program the alarm/remote start unit and get no response when pressing the valet switch, which is needed to enter programming mode. The unit is getting power as I have tested both power wire and they read 12V. Also I have installed the needed bypass for the factory security system. I have tried to use another valet switch and still no response. Another reason why I know that the unit is recieving some sort of power is when I press the brake the siren chirps and also the shock sensor LED flashes when there is vibration.
If there is anyone that might the solution to why I can't program the unit or any help with what wire could be wrong to make this happen, please let me know?
Thanks

make/model of your alarm unit?
most, if not all, units out there required a door trigger to be tied in. therefore, the door has to be open to get into programming.

My bad for not putting this before but its an alarm system that a customer wanted to me to put in and its made by Absolute, model number FMR-857. Its a 2-way remote paging alarm with remote start.
Hopes this helps and thanks in advance.

I should of just edited last post...Anyway test ignition at brain and make sure the unit is seeing the ignition ON-OFF. I see that has an ignition kill...Scary...Would not recommend doing that.

When driving, if robbery affairs happen, please press button III for 2" after getting off to

activate anti-robbery function, which is confirmed by light flashing for 10" followed by siren

chirping for 10". In anti-robbery mode, alarm function will be fully activated. The ignition kill

will be activated to shut down the engine if you have chosen this feature when installing.

(Please note that anti-robbery ignition kill is programmable to be on/off, please refer to your

dealer if you have any question.)

PASSIVE ARMING FUNCTION...This is a factory reset...Might want to do that just in case you have changed some programming After you figure out Issue             Once false setting is made when installation or operation, press Key II+III in normal status for 5" to

reset the system to factory settings, confirmed by one siren chirp and one light flash:

1. Auxiliary output duration: 0.5"

2. Anti-rob ignition kill: OFF

3. Gasoline/disel choice: GASOLINE

4. Engine running time after remote started: 15 MINUTES

5. Double pulse unlock: OFF

6. Security re-arming: OFF

7. Door status indicator: OFF

8. Passive arming: OFF

9. Turbo mode: OFF

10. Dome light delay duration: 10 SECS

Thanks. It was the ignition wire to the brain that was causing it to not recognize the off and on. I just had to switch the two different ignition wires now I can go into programing mode.
I have most of the features working on the alarm. The only ones that I need to troubleshoot are the doors on car will not lock or unlock when arming or disarmming with remote pager and also will not remote start.

Yea I do have the door wires running to the passenger side fuse box, but I had some confusion when I hooked up those ones. I don"t know if you are real familiar or not with model of car, but my wiring diagram says that it is BLACK/ blue wire for lock and orange for unlock. When I was testing wires I noticed that the wires connected to the power window switch on the door were ORANGE / black and blue/orange. Any help with this issue would help also the polarities or relay set up?
For the R/S there is no flashing lights on the dash at all.

yeah those are the correct color. i believe it's the green plug w/ bunch of wires and hard to reach. low current 200mA(-) will drive the lock/unlock.
