I have a 2005 jeep grand cherokee and just finished installing a remote start................but, the remote start will only keep the engine running if the key is in the "on" position.  If the key is just placed in the ignition, the car will start for 3 seconds then shut down............3 times.  I disconnected the ignition harness from the key switch and the remote start works fine..........please help.

I have not installed a bypass module yet...........getting that from a local dealer tomorrow..............I was told that with the key in the ignition my remote start should work (without turning the ignition to "on".  Not sure what MUX is.  Thanks.

MUX is the Multiplexed 2nd start and 2nd acc wires... did you deal with those at all?  the module will do so for you, but it likely wont start without them....
