Hi,
I'm currently installing a viper 5901 system in my 2003 Monte Carlo. I have, unfortunately, ran into a problem. For some reason the XK01 bypass module is not responding to any commands either from the d2d or wire 2 wire.
I got the unit reflashed just incase the firmware was incorrect and I made sure I programmed it to type 2 for my car, which it really does see the key turn since the lights indicate so. The current hook up I have right now is the violet wire from xk01 goes to the violet pin 2 on the obd ii connector and then the d2d cable to the viper unit.
I know the xk01 isn't receiving any commands because it's not locking, unlocking, popping trunk, or bypassing the immobilizer when I hit the buttons on the viper remote. I know the viper is getting the signal since it's chirping, trying to start but can't b/c the immobilizer, etc....
Am I missing something here or is my module or something shot?

Oh, and I forgot the add the two jumpers are in the horizontal position on the viper so it's not that....But as I said if I pulse the wires in wire 2 wire configuration it doesn't work either....

You need to read the fine print on the installation instructions for the XK01-AMDL. This module may/will not control the door lock/unlock or trunk release functions. It should bypass the Passlock II system. You will need to hardwire the door locks and trunk release. The locks use a ground pulse to unlock and ground through a 480 ohm resistor to lock. The lock/unlock circuit is a one wire type (ORANGE / black) at RH of dash from door harness. The disarm wire and doorpin wire are also there. They will be needed if the car has a content factory alarm.
